Akil holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Software Engineering and has been building innovative software solutions for over 15 years. Throughout his career, he has launched various tech startups in Albania and led the development of mission-critical government systems, including SMIP—a comprehensive online platform managing the educational data of every student in Albania—the Electronic VISA system, and an advanced Animal Identification and Recording System.

As a Guest Lecturer at Polis University, Akil shares his experience and passion for technology with aspiring engineers. In 2017, he ventured into the financial sector by developing core banking systems, and in 2022, he founded POK, a fintech company that has since grown to serve more than 200,000 customers and 1,200 businesses, positioning it as a strategic VISA Partner.

In his free time, Akil enjoys exploring the cosmos by listening to astrophysics podcasts, constantly fueling his curiosity for innovation and the universe.
