Cosmin Cosma is a leading figure in fintech innovation across Central and Eastern Europe, where he is driving the transformation of treasury management through the power of open banking. As the Co-Founder and CEO of Finqware, a cutting-edge fintech startup headquartered in Bucharest, Cosmin has positioned his company at the forefront of treasury automation solutions. Finqware’s platform offers flexible connectivity to major European banks, enabling businesses to manage their cash across multiple banks, countries, and currencies on a single platform, enhancing reporting, forecasting, reconciliations, collections, and working capital insights.

Under Cosmin’s leadership, Finqware has gained recognition as a potential regional leader in the fintech industry, having been the first technology company to implement open banking data pulling in live production in both Croatia and Romania. The company’s innovative approach has attracted significant backing from prominent regional investors, including Elevator Ventures (the CVC arm of Raiffeisen Bank International) and Gapminder VC, and has earned multiple international accolades, such as the Seal of Excellence from the European Commission and the Great Prize by Citibank at the Citi PSD2 Regional Challenge.

Cosmin’s expertise is further underscored by his role as President of the Board of the Romanian Fintech Association and his contributions as a board member of the European Digital Finance Association. His journey in fintech is grounded in a solid foundation of banking experience, having held management positions at ING Bank, GE Capital, Garanti Bank, and Volksbank, where he specialized in commercial and risk management roles.

In addition to his work with Finqware, Cosmin is a serial entrepreneur who has successfully founded several companies, including a banking franchisee branch for ING Bank and a reinsurance broker. He holds an Executive MBA diploma and continues to be a key voice in shaping the future of digital finance in Europe.
