Jelena Popović is a seasoned operations leader with over 20 years in the banking industry. As the Head of Central Operations at Raiffeisen banka a.d. Beograd, she manages core back-end systems, focusing on operational stability and the modernization of payment infrastructure.

Jelena is deeply involved in the key regulatory and strategic projects shaping the Serbian market. She played an important role in the implementation of the Instant Payment System (IPS) and remains key to its ongoing operational management. Currently, she is leading the bank’s project for joining the SEPA SCT scheme and has managed the transition to the ISO 20022 (MT to MX) standard, while closely monitoring the evolution of Open Banking.

She is dedicated to maximizing Straight-Through Processing (STP) rates by implementing advanced automation and leveraging AI to eliminate manual tasks. Beyond payments, her expertise extends to cash operations and supporting retail transformation with multi-functional self-service devices. By combining deep regulatory knowledge with a focus on modern solutions, Jelena ensures that banking operations remain efficient and future ready.
