Payments Through the Policy Lens

Payments don’t evolve in isolation, they are shaped by regulation, institutions, and global networks working behind the scenes. Snežana Sofijanić brings this broader perspective to the discussion, connecting how public policy and financial infrastructure influence the way payments function in practice.
As Head of Government Engagement for South East Europe at Visa, Snežana works closely with governments, central banks, business organizations, and NGOs across the Western Balkans, contributing to cooperation and dialogue around the development of payment systems and financial markets. She joined Visa in 2022.
Her experience includes work at the Central Bank of Serbia, where she coordinated activities related to Serbia’s European integration process and monitored EU accession and association developments.
With a strong background in international economics and finance, Snežana offers valuable insight into how payments are evolving across regulatory, institutional, and market dimensions.
